-ment will pay". He then told my brother and Tung Cheung and two

other men to hurry up and catch the Steamer to Hongkong.

6.

My brother said to me "If Yeung Tsing Kai

"gives you the agreement you must keep it carefully and not show

*it to anyone", he then went off with Tung Cheung and the others

to catch the Steamer to Hongkong.

7.

Shortly afterwards I saw Yeung Tsing Kai and

spoke about the agreement, he said it was not necessary, and told

me to stay in his quarters and it would be all right.

I remained there, and late in the evening of

the 10th. January I heard Yeung Tsing Kai say that the affair had

been done. My brother told me afterwards that immediately after

the shooting of Yeung Kui Wan a secret telegram had been sent to

Canton announcing the fact.

8.

On the 14th. January I saw my brother again

in Li Ka Cheuk's barracks, and he told me that he and Tung Cheung

had both shot Yeung Kui Wan while "Hakka Tsai" (i.e. Li Kwai Fan)

watched in the street.

9.

On the 16th. January Tung Cheung also came

back to Li Ka Cheuk's barracks, and about the same time Li Kwai

Fan also came to the barracks, and we all stayed there together

more than 10 days. During that time I heard my brother and Tung Cheung and Li Kwai Fan talking over the details of the murder.

Then my brother, Tung Cheung and Li Kwai Fan

asked Yeung Tsing Kai to go to Li Ka Cheuk and get the reward for

them, after a time he got it and gave each of them an order on a Chinese Bank. I saw my brother's order, it was for $2,000, and 1 knew he got the money. I believe Tung Cheung and Li Kwai Fan each

got $2,000 also.

10.

11.

On or about the 14th. February, 1901, By

brother and Tung Cheung and Li Kwai Fan each received a Diploma
